Uniting NSW.ACT is one of Australia’s leading providers of aged care services in Australia and our nurses are at the heart of the care we provide to older people.
If you are a nurse wanting to experience a different way of life in another country, with the opportunity to work with a diverse and purpose-driven team, you are welcome in Australia and at Uniting.
Aged care offers a career that uses all of your skills in a holistic way. You get the opportunity to build relationships with residents and clients through getting to know them and providing and leading the team to give ongoing compassionate, person-centred clinical care.
We ensure our nurses are rewarded with above-award rates of pay, a choice of locations across New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, professional development, and a range of benefits.
We have registered nurse roles available across NSW and ACT
A registered nurse is one of the most senior roles in residential aged care. Our Home and Community Care nurses work autonomously, visiting and caring for clients in their home and providing guidance and coaching to non-clinical team members. In both settings, there is a supportive leadership team and community of clinical practitioners working with you.
Visit our main career page for nurses for an overview of pay rates and benefits.
If you are from Canada, Hong Kong, Ireland, the UK or the USA, your skills and qualifications are likely to be more easily recognised by AHPRA to work as a registered nurse in Australia. You will need to apply for your Australian nursing registration through AHPRA - Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
If you are from another country not listed above, your skills and qualifications may still be recognised by AHPRA. You will also need to apply for your Australian nursing registration through AHPRA. This process can take some time and you will need this registration approved before you apply for a registered nursing role with Uniting. There may be other opportunities to work with us while you wait for registration.
In most instances, Uniting is able to offer sponsorship to nurses from overseas who meet the nursing registration and immigration requirements.
We will support you to obtain the appropriate visa and help you get set up to work and live in Australia.
You can either apply for a role straight away or contact careers@uniting.org if you would like more information.
