This is casual position, based in Campbelltown. Starting base hourly rate of $50.03 to $53.09 negotiable based on experience, plus casual loading and super.

About the opportunity:

Uniting is seeking a compassionate Counsellor to join our Doorways team in Campbelltown. In this role you will be supporting our Youth and Families with professional and caring Counselling services. In this deeply rewarding role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred therapeutic counselling, offering hope and healing to individuals and families in our Youth and Homelessness programs.
  • Work collaboratively with passionate caseworkers to develop tailored, trauma-informed interventions that truly transform lives.
  • Support clients navigating complex challenges, including family violence, substance misuse, and mental health issues, ensuring they have the strength and resources to rebuild their lives.
  • Provide counselling within intricate systems – from courts to community services – always with empathy and respect for every person’s story.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling (or equivalent) and a minimum of three years’ experience.
  • A heartfelt commitment to working with diverse communities, ensuring cultural safety and inclusivity in every interaction.
  • The ability to inspire trust and foster healing through innovative therapeutic practices.
  • Experience navigating complex service environments, from domestic violence to child protection, with resilience and compassion.
  • Current NSW WWCC
