About the opportunity:

Uniting is seeking an experienced caseworker to join our team in Campbelltown. As a Caseworker in our Homelessness Service, you will be part of the Doorways for Men and Couples with Children program. This role focuses on providing support, advocacy, and casework services to men with families who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Macarthur, Camden, and Wollondilly regions.  

  • Client Support: Provide information, crisis support, advocacy, and referral services for men with children and couples with children.
  • Case Management: Offer client-centred, strengths-based casework addressing issues like homelessness, trauma, substance use, unemployment, mental health, domestic violence, education, and parenting.
  • Holistic Approach: Utilise a Trauma Informed Framework to assess and address risks and strengths, developing individualized case plans.
  • Collaborative Work: Build relationships with external agencies and services to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Community Engagement: Facilitate participation in community activities and events such as Men’s Health Week, Homelessness events, Domestic Violence events, NAIDOC week, and Child Protection activities.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate client records, case notes, and case plans in the CIMS data system.
  • Team Participation: Engage in team meetings, relevant training, and consultations, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Social Sciences or related
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a caseworker
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, honest and productive relationships with families.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing support plans, providing casework support and follow up.
  • Excellent communication skills including advocacy, mediation, conflict resolution and written skills.
  • Proven computer skills including word processing, accessing emails and internet and the willingness to be trained in data collection system.
  • Current NSW WWCC
  • Current NSW Driver’s license
