Specialist Homelessness Services SHS Youth of Uniting provides crisis supported accommodation with case management, for people aged 16-24 years old, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our services provide 24/7 onsite support and assistance with education, employment, referral into counselling services, health services, living skills and parenting programs.

Role Overview:
This role is responsible for the provision of safe and appropriate accommodation and support services to residents through the delivery of high-quality care to service users.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Qualifications:
• Certificate IV in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work or other relevant field
• First Aid Certificate
Experience:
Typically this role will require 2 or more years’ experience in your field of expertise. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organised, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined. You will be continuing to develop in your area of expertise and be expected to provide innovative ideas to solve problems in your discipline. It is expected that you will possess good skills at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required.
• Experience working with vulnerable people, relevant to the service (Men, Women, Youth)
• Knowledge of best-practice for Specialist Homelessness funded Services
• Computer proficiency and demonstrated ability to maintain timely and accurate client information
Even better:
• Previous experience working in Crisis
• Identify and Respond to Risk of Harm training
• Cultural Awareness training
• Mental Health First Aid
