About the opportunity

This is a full time permanent position (70 hours per fortnight). Based in Oran Park.

The FCS program aims to assist families who could benefit from support to address and prevent the escalation of current issues. The FCS will primarily work with those families with identified vulnerabilities and concerns that fall below the threshold of statutory child protection intervention.

This is a management position within the South West Sydney Leadership team, specifically responsible for the Family Connect and Support (FCS) program. You will be responsible for the day to day coordination, management and leadership of a team of Specialists delivering whole of family services for vulnerable children, youth and families. 

 

About You

  • Provide efficient and effective management of the Family Connect Support program and a team of triage and assessment specialists
  • Oversee implementation of the programs day to day practice
  • Develop and collaborate with the Regional Manager and DCJ to ensure a rigorous practice framework, processes, procedures and strategies to service vulnerable families
  • Prepare relevant program work plans and reports against achievements as required by our funders
  • Actively participate in local and sector networks, advocacy and consultation as relevant to the program.

What you need to succeed

  • Relevant Social Work tertiary qualification or significant Senior experience
  • Minimum of 5 years working with children and families with a minimum 2 years leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of evidence based, child and family focussed assessment tools
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection issues with the capacity to identify risk levels and plan support plans accordingly
  • Demonstrated understanding of child protection framework and legislation and mandatory reporting
  • Ability to work out of hours and be available to support staff outside of hours
