About the Role
This is a permanent part-time opportunity working 21 hours/ week across 3 days. Located in Tamworth NSW with some travel required.
Uniting is seeking a Group Specialist Aftercare Coach to work with care leavers aged 18-24, empowering them in their transition to adulthood. Based in Tamworth, this role combines casework, group facilitation, and mentorship, with travel across the state to regions such as Western NSW, Northern Rivers, Mid North Coast, and New England.
As a Group Specialist, you’ll focus on designing and delivering meaningful group work aligned to young people’s needs, employing the Advantaged Thinking practice model to highlight their strengths and possibilities.
About you in the role
• Facilitate group sessions addressing skills such as social engagement, job readiness, financial literacy, and health and wellbeing.
• Engage and mentor diverse young people with a history of statutory care, fostering autonomy and self-determination.
• Collaborate with young people and stakeholders to co-design group experiences and package them for statewide delivery.
• Coordinate and advocate for access to entitlements, support services, and opportunities like education, training, and employment.
• Provide intensive aftercare support, including case management, independent living skills development, and cultural and community connection.
• Work collaboratively in team meetings focused on peer learning and training to continuously enhance practice.
