Role Overview: We are seeing a full-time Senior Business Analyst to join us at Uniting. This role is responsible for liaising and partnering with senior stakeholders from the business and IT. The ideal candidate will excel in stakeholder consultation, workshop facilitation, and requirements elicitation, while also demonstrating leadership in Agile methodologies and mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

Stakeholder Consultation and Communication

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders across various departments
  • Facilitate clear and confident communication between business units, IT teams, and external partners
  • Present complex information and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels with clarity and confidence

Workshop Facilitation

  • Design and lead workshops to gather requirements, solve problems, and drive decision-making
  • Document and distribute workshop results to relevant stakeholders

Requirements Elicitation and Management

  • Elicit high-quality user stories and requirements through stakeholder interviews, observation and analysis ensuring they are well defined, actionable and aligned with business objectives 
  • Implement and maintain a traceability matrix linking user stories to design elements and test cases

Business Architecture

  • Develop and maintain business capability models to provide a comprehensive view of organisational functions
  • Use capability models to identify gaps, redundancies, and improvement opportunities
  • Align capability models with strategic objectives and IT initiatives

Agile Leadership

  • Act as a Scrum Master when required, setting up and facilitating sprints, retrospectives, and showcases
  • Ensure Agile best practices are followed and continuously improved
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment

Mentorship and Team Leadership

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior Business Analysts
  • Lead by example in demonstrating best practices in business analysis and stakeholder management
  • Support the professional development of team members through knowledge sharing and coaching

Quality Assurance and Testing

  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure test cases adequately cover all user stories and requirements
  • Participate in test planning and execution to validate that delivered solutions meet business needs
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing with stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a proven track record in stakeholder management and workshop facilitation
  • Strong understanding of business capability modelling and its application in organisational strategy
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring junior team members and fostering a positive work environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) and/or Scrum Master certification is highly desirable
