What you’ll be doing in this role:

This role is responsible for supporting the delivery of a person-centred approach to older people to maximise their mobility and functional capacity, and therefore their independence and wellbeing. This role will support the provision of relevant professional services as directed by the Physiotherapist based on the needs and goals of the individual client, including exercise and pain management based treatments.


Your Physio Aide work may include:

  • Support the timely delivery of quality care services to clients that support the needs of each client under supervision and instruction of the Physiotherapist
  • Assist the Physiotherapist with the provision of exercise and pain management treatment as developed by the Physiotherapist in consultation with the client
  • Monitor and maintain client documentation, including progress notes and pain charts, in line with Uniting policies and procedures
  • Contribute to care planning of clients in collaboration with the Physiotherapist
  • Take the lead on safe work practices, identify training needs and support delivery of training in coordination with Physiotherapist & Service Manager
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the care services we provide to our clients
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with internal stakeholders, including clients and the broader team
  • Support the delivery of ad-hoc services if required

Who we are looking for:

  • Relevant Certificate III, such as Certificate III in Aged Care or Individual Support, or a related field, or demonstrated equivalent experience, for example exercise-based and massage treatment

Essential Experience & Skills:

  • Ideally, two or more years of experience in a relevant field of experience, but more importantly, you are passionate about aged care and supporting older people in improving their physical functioning and wellbeing
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to ensure that the voice of the client is heard and valued
  • Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) and risk management practices
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
  • Excellent written and
  • verbal communication skills
  • Be organised, accurate and disciplined
  • Skilled at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and with internal stakeholders
  • Proficient in using multiple computer applications/systems and willingness to learn new systems and programs as required
