headspace Penrith and Mount Druitt, run by Uniting, aims to reduce the burden of disease in young people aged 12-25 years caused by mental health and related substance use disorders through early identification and effective, evidence-based intervention.
Role Overview:
This role will be responsible for leading a Capacity Boost Project to help young people accessing headspace services receive timely physical healthcare. The position will lead the formation of a physical health clinic at both headspace Penrith and Mt Druitt while also secure pathways of care between each headspace centre and GPs in the community.
As the Physical Health Nurse, your role specifically will include but not limited to:

Qualifications:
You must hold current and unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse. You must also hold a valid NSW driver’s license.
Experience:
Typically this role will require 3 or more years’ experience in your field of expertise. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be organised, systematic, thorough, accurate and disciplined. You will be continuing to develop in your area of expertise and be expected to provide innovative ideas to solve problems in your discipline. It is expected that you will possess good skills at navigating a complex organisation, forging relationships, and managing through influence rather than direct authority as required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with or alongside GP clinics
• Minimum of 1 year experience working with young people (aged 12-25)
• Experience creating physical health resources and/or participation in physical health promotion projects
Even better:
• Experience working with discrete communities such as young people who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, CALD background and LBGTQIA+
• Experience working in the Western Sydney and Nepean Blue Mountains communities
