About the role:

Leading a large, dedicated and experienced team of 60 staff located within NSW & ACT with an overview of IT projects and Finance systems teams and development of appropriate structure and process flows aiming to achieve process excellence status

The key functions of the role would be:

  • Leadership of the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Billing, Client Administration team
  • Program leadership of Finance Shared services initiated projects and leading on other Service Stream and IT projects
  • Developing appropriate structure and process flows for the AP, AR, CAT and teams that are in line with best practices
  • Looking for efficiencies and improvements in productivity
  • Improvements in controls and in fraud prevention.
  • Guidance and collaboration with Finance system team to ensure optimum system outcomes
  • Taking the co-lead, in developing our rising talent, coaching and guiding the team for success and improving staff engagement and work culture.

Qualifications & experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications to bachelor's degree in business, finance or accounting with recognised CPA or CA bodies
  • At least 6 years experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within a large, complex human services sector

  • Demonstrated ability to break down complex issues and identify solutions to meet strategic and operational needs
  • Ability to apply extensive rigour and critical thinking to achieve optimum excellence results
  • Capable of leading through influence across, up and down our organisation
  • Ability to coach and develop our finance professionals, inspiring the team's best work, driving their focus to support and achieve Uniting's strategic initiatives
  • Strong experience aligning technology and best practice finance processes within a large, complex organisation
  • A passion for process and project excellence

Nice to haves:

  • Process improvement training experience - Kaizen or Lean 6 sigma
  • Project Management training - Prince

Above all you will be an approachable yet resilient Manager with unique ability to promote a unified approach, encouraging open and consistent communication, instilling team spirit and sense of respect that is important for overall job satisfaction and productivity
