Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking a talented and dedicated Junior ServiceNow Developer to join our supportive and inclusive Service Delivery team. This permanent full-time role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact whilst learning and growing in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Developer, ServiceNow to join our team and support our continuous improvement activities as well as assisting with the end-to-end design and development of solutions aligned with our ITSC technology roadmap. This role will involve contributing to a common integration framework and development process, ensuring consistent delivery of quality solutions to our business.

Responsibilities

The Junior Developer, ServiceNow will be responsible for completing or being part of the following tasks: 

  • Develop solutions on the ServiceNow Platform, including writing technical specification documents
  • Collaborate with other junior developers and assist in operational support tasks
  • Contribute to the ServiceNow BAU improvements team within the IT department
  • Build and configure both Out of the Box and custom solutions on the ServiceNow Platform
  • Assist Business Analysts in drafting project BRDs and writing project technical specifications
  • Participate in monthly development sprint cycles and contribute to ensuring solutions are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Coordinate and perform update set deployments and assist in upgrades

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar role developing solutions in ServiceNow and: 

  • Good understanding of ServiceNow ITSM, Service Request/catalogue, Employee Center/Portal, and HRSD capabilities
  • Experience working in a Scrum Agile environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in continuous software integration
  • Familiarity with application development frameworks, test-driven development, and code coverage
  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Principle and Design Patterns
  • Experience in end-to-end delivery of solutions and Application Life Cycle Management
  • Ability in data modelling and Information modelling and translating business requirements into technical specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Even Better

  • ServiceNow developer certification (CAD) will be a plus
  • Familiarity with Jira and Subversion administration is desirable
  • Exposure to HR and IT service designs
