Caseworker - Targeted Early Intervention (TEI)

About the Role

This role is part time contract until June 2023, 3 days per week. Based in Dubbo.

In this role, you will provide targeted early intervention services to support and help vulnerable young people. Day to day you will provide;

  • Provide information, crisis support, advocacy and referrals for young people within their communities
  • Organise and facilitate activities that encourage connectedness for young people which increase social inclusion and participation (mentoring, leadership programs, relationship and social skills)
  • Provide support that increases a young persons knowledge, skills, experience, confidence and well being
  • Facilitate small weekly groups of young people
  • Facilitate the organisation of culturally competent providers of Aboriginal specific activities to strengthen Aboriginal children and young people

What you need to succeed:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Services or working towards the same or relevant professional experience and/or demonstrated prior learning with relevant life and work experience working with young people
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive, honest and productive relationships with young people to develop, support and plan support and follow up
  • Confidence to be trained to deliver evidence based group work and in large school settings
  • Ability to provide effective assessment and referral for a variety of issues and facilitate young peoples access to services
  • Ability to contribute to program development and evaluation
  • Ability to work flexible hours
